Arches, Towers and Holy Teeth – Porto

Europe

cloister of Porto cathedral

As a catholic country, churches shape the architecture and landscape of the city. The cathedral is a great first stop for admiring both the architecture and the art kept inside the buildings. Even here, blue tiles decorate the walls.

The Tower of Clerigo is not only a great place to get a 360° view of Porto, but also to walk around the connected church.

A lot of the truly baroque churches do not allow photographs to be taken. They are opulent places covered in gold and ornaments with dark figurines and questionable life-sized statues. Worth a visit.
