With lots of industrial facilities now lying dormant, new uses of those landscapes have to be found. Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord (landscape park) has done everything right! Large industrial constructions provide a spacious entity with climbing walls on old chimneys, a diving club inside an old tank and renovated paths for exploring the old furnaces and gazing at the awe-inspiring machines. The view from the top of the furnace is a big bonus! I think it is important to remodel old landscapes for new uses while remembering the history of the space.
During the Easter weekend, the whole park lights up at night.
