Dublin – Never let the truth get in the way of a good story

Europe

Dublin, the black pool, is not as dark and doomy as it sounds.

If you are a Starwars fan, the library should look familiar to you.

Ireland is full of stories, and they keep true to their motto (see heading). At the O’Connell Bridge, you can see a commemorate plaque that reads as follows:

THIS PLAQUE COMMEMORATES

FR. PAT NOISE

ADVISOR TO PEADAR CLANCEY.

HE DIED UNDER SUSPICIOUS
CIRCUMSTANCES WHEN HIS
CARRIAGE PLUNGED INTO THE

LIFFEY ON AUGUST 10TH 1919.

ERECTED BY THE HSTI

The plaque is a hoax but the Irish liked it so much that they left it there. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story…

At Christchurch Cathedral, I found Tom & Jerry lying next to each other peacefully. Poor chaps got stuck in an organ pipe while chasing each other.
