Market life in Phnom Penh – Cambodia

Asia, food

mysterious liquid, but someone told me it is green tea

Markets are not hard to find in Phnom Penh; Night Market, Russian Market, Central Market, O’Russey Market and many more with unknown names, some more touristy than others. My recommendation: try the Old Market next to the Night Market (skip that one, it’s like any other night market in South East Asia) and any ones you stumble upon to glimpse some everyday scenes.

Look at those working hands stained with blood and organic material. Fish decapitated on a silver platter. Spinning ceiling fans distributing the hot air currents in the building. A big greenhouse feeding a swarm of flies. Locals sitting in the midst of their wares, counting change or taking a nap. Small businesses set up in crammed stalls, barbers, stylists, hairdressers hidden under the piles of fake hair.

Between the food and clothes aisles, a beauty salon with some face sprinklers for some mist facial therapy.
