It is said that a <em>tapa<\/em> (<em>lid, cover<\/em>) of bread and ham slices was used to cover the sherry in order to keep flies away from the drink and also to increase thirst and thus alcohol sales. Here, anything in a small portion can be considered a tapa, and although there are classic dishes that most restaurants serve, other dishes vary from restaurant to restaurant.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">Quality and taste can also differ drastically. Our first try was a restaurant by the road, a <em>we-are-really-hungry-lets-pick-the-first-thing-stop<\/em>. The food, unfortunately, was really bad. Even the fact that most of it was fried did not cover the poor execution of fish or meat dishes. The mushy stuff was mostly flavorless.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5548\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/maponmyplate.com\/?attachment_id=5548\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-5548\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5548\" class=\"wp-image-5548\" src=\"https:\/\/maponmyplate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/1712_sevilla_food_01.jpg?w=750\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/maponmyplate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/1712_sevilla_food_01.jpg 750w, https:\/\/maponmyplate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/1712_sevilla_food_01-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/maponmyplate.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/1712_sevilla_food_01-270x180.jpg 270w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-5548\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">fried stuff and mushy stuff<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align:center;\">We also tried the <strong>Samorejo<\/strong>, a cold thick soup from C\u00f3rdoba that consists of tomatoes, bread, oil and garlic and served with ham. Service was quick, presentation miles better and food was awesome. They have all the classics but also more creative and modern choices.
