architecture of churches – Moscow

Europe

Moscow and its churches everywhere! More cupolas than one can count, in a polished gold or swirled like ice cream. This is a collection of some of the churches in Moscow – blue with gold stars is my favorite. An orthodox service is also a new experience – divine music, melodious recitations, standing and bowing. Meditation in repetition?

  1. I agree that Moscow has amazing architecture. I could never decide what I liked more, the colorful Orthodox churches or the crazy space-inspired Soviet buildings!
